Varsity vs Griffith Senior High School (54 - 64) Loss On Saturday night, Hobart once again played the role of host in their 2nd contest of the season ... this time the opponent was former NCC foe Griffith. The Panthers, playing their first contest of the season, found their offensive rhythm early and jumped out to a 12-1 lead just 4 minutes in and held a 19-11 advantage after 1 quarter of play. The lead grew to 30-19 by halftime. In the 2nd half, the Brickies FOUGHT BACK ... dialing up the D-D-D-DEFENSIVE PRESSURE and ATTACKING the hoop on offense!! In fact, with around 2 minutes left in the game, Griffith had to call a time out because our boys came all the way back and trailed just 56-52!!! WOW!! Unfortunately, that was as close as it got as the Panthers regrouped and outscored Hobart 8-2 the rest of the way to leave town with a 64-54 win. Hnilo fueled the Hobart attack with a career high 27 points to go along with 5 assists and 4 steals against only 1 turnover. Leonard added 15 points in the loss.
